One respected version of a tuned Austin Healey came from Ken Rudd. He claimed to get about 178 BHP from a Healey 3000 using a moderate cam. Main modifications to his engine were polished head with enlarged ports, special cam and three 1 3/4" SU carburettors on specially made aluminum manifolds with a characteristic finned design. To finish it off he used a works style exhaust. The chassis also received mods similar to the works team cars.
Performance claims were 0-60 in 6.9 seconds with a standing quarter mile time of 16.8 and a 125 MPH top speed.
